First meeting as an Independent congregation in 1777, opening Zion Chapel in 1825, and later called Highworth Congregational Church. In 1972 the United Reformed Church in Highworth was one of the founding churches of this new denomination.
We are a small congregation who offer a warm and friendly welcome. During 2010 we have seen an increase in numbers attending worship.
We offer baptismal, wedding and funeral services. Enquires about these should be made to the minister, Robert Jordan or telephone 01793-513039.
Highworth United Reformed Church is one of the town’s five churches. Whilst working together with the other churches, both individually as well as part of the Highworth Inter-Church Council (‘The Church in Highworth’), we have our own distinctive place in the town. We are normally viewed as both traditional and reflective in our style of worship.
We seek to offer access for all with a level entrance, a toilet for the disabled, a loop system for the hard of hearing, large-print hymn books and chairs as an alternative to the pews.
